PROPERTY VALUATION

As demonstrated by recent reports in your local media, proceedings before Ohio's county boards of revision have an enormous impact on school districts and their potential tax revenue.

With the ongoing economic crisis, more and more property owners are utilizing the tax complaint process in an effort to decrease their property taxes. This increased utilization of the tax complaint process, combined with the fact that many cases are now being drawn out over a period of several years, means that many Ohio school districts are losing precious tax dollars.

McGown & Markling Co., L.P.A. is prepared to provide your school board with representation before boards of revision, the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, courts of appeal, and the Ohio Supreme Court to ensure the proper valuation of property located in your school district.

As an alternative to our blended hourly rate of $150 for property valuation matters, McGown & Markling Co., L.P.A. performs property valuation services for some school clients on the following fee arrangement, and offers the same option to your school board:

  • Board of Revision: $500 flat fee per complaint plus incidental charges
  • Board of Tax Appeals: $1,000 flat fee per appeal plus incidental charges
  • Supreme Court of Ohio: $150 blended hourly rate plus incidental charges
